Otter provides different plans tailored to your needs. This article provides steps on how to revert your paid (Pro, Business, Enterprise) Workspace back to an individual account. There may be various reasons why you want to revert your Workspace:
- Joining another Workspace (users cannot be part of more than one Workspace at a time)
- Downgrading from a paid plan to a Basic plan
- Downgrading from a higher-paid plan to a lower-paid plan
Cancel plan (required step)
To downgrade your account, your Otter plan trial or paid subscription must be canceled, and the billing period must expire.
To verify that your account is no longer on a trial or a paid plan, navigate to Account Settings > Plan. Under Plan Details, it will show as "Subscription_Name (expired) plan" with the Revert plan option.
Expand the option below that best matches your current plan for more information on cancellation. Once your plan has expired, follow the revert plan steps.

Cancel and wait until your trial expires first. Find out when your plan expires by going to Account Settings > Plan. Under Plan Details, see when your trial expires.
Revert Plan
If you have multiple team members in your paid Workspace, only the owner or admin(s) are able to proceed with reverting the Workspace.
- Click on your profile on the left navigation menu. Select Account Settings and click on the Plan tab.
- Under the Plan Details section, click Revert plan.
- Carefully review the information in the pop-up. The message may vary depending on your plan. Click Revert plan to confirm.
Note: Only the Workspace is deleted. All existing conversations, folders, and Channels in a user's account will still be accessible. - Your Workspace has been deleted and your plan has been downgraded. You'll be sent an email confirming the changes. The user(s) will revert to a Basic plan. Applicable limits will apply.

Admins can remove any user from the Workspace and revert them to an individual Otter account. All conversations and account information will be preserved in the Workspace account when users are reverted to an individual account. See Remove a member from a Workspace for more information.
If you are not the owner or an admin of the account, contact your admin to revert your account to a personal one. If you don’t know who the admin of your Workspace is, navigate to Account Settings > Plan and click Contact.
