Otter for Zoom Webinars enables automatic transcription and note-taking for Zoom webinar sessions, creating a searchable transcript for collaboration and post-event reference. Stay focused on delivering your webinar while Otter captures key moments, insights, and follow-ups for you.
Getting started: Otter Live Notes must be set up before recording Zoom Webinars.
Step 1: Schedule the webinar in Otter
Make sure you have set up Otter Live Notes before continuing. This is required for Otter to record Zoom Webinars.
- Once Live Notes has been set up, click Settings next to Zoom on the Integration page.
- Click on the Webinar tab.

Fill out the webinar information. Click Generate codes.
- Fill out the title of the webinar conversation
- Set the start time of the webinar
- Optionally share to a Channel
Note: Make sure the webinar time is correct. Otter can only record during the scheduled webinar time. - Copy down the webinar codes.
Step 2: Schedule the webinar in Zoom
Note: Zoom’s UI may change over time. Refer to Zoom’s documentation for their most up-to-date steps and screenshots.
- Log in to the Zoom web portal.
- Schedule a webinar.
- Once the webinar has been scheduled, navigate to the Live Streaming page. Click Configure custom streaming.
- Copy the streaming details from Otter to Zoom. Click Save when finished.
- The webinar is ready to be recorded by Otter.
Step 3: Start the recording during the webinar
Follow these steps when the webinar begins to start recording in Otter.
Note: We recommend completing these steps ~10 minutes before the webinar starts.
- Start the Zoom webinar.
- Click More, select Livestream, then choose Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.

Otter will begin setting up the custom live stream and redirect you to the Otter conversation page.
Note: Recording will start automatically at the scheduled start time. - Once the webinar begins, Otter will start recording and transcribing in real-time.
FAQs
How do I stop recording?
- In the Zoom webinar, click Livestream and choose Stop live stream. Otter will stop recording.
Why don't I see the Webinars tab in Otter?
- Please try using this direct link to access the webinars tab: https://otter.ai/zoom-connection-settings/live-notes/webinar
- Contact our Otter Support Team if you do not see the Webinars tab.
- This feature does require the Otter Business plan or higher.
I forgot the webinar codes. Where can I find the streaming key info again?
- Hover and click the key icon on the Otter webinar page to view the webinar codes again.
