- As the host, start the Zoom meeting.
- A red indicator with the words LIVE will appear in the upper left corner of the Zoom window, indicating that Otter has started live transcribing the meeting.

Meeting participants will also see the red LIVE transcription indicator in their Zoom window. To request access, follow the steps below.
- Click Request access in the playback controls bar.
- Type in your email.
- Click Request access.
- Wait for the owner of the transcript to approve your request.
Mobile
Otter Live Notes works on the mobile Zoom app as well. Starting a Zoom meeting on your iOS or Android Zoom app, will prompt the live transcript. Both host and meeting participants can open the Otter Live Notes by clicking the Live icon and clicking Live on Custom Live Streaming Services.
Known Limitations
- For participants using Zoom on Chromebook, there is no red LIVE icon. As a workaround, the host can copy the link to Otter Live Notes and paste it into Zoom's chat, so all participants can access it there.
- Otter Live Notes does not work in breakout rooms. As a workaround, you can utilize OtterPilot to send to a breakout room, or one person in each breakout room can do a side-by-side recording.
