Enrich your conversations by adding reactions, comments, highlights, and images. These features facilitate deeper engagement by providing more context, emphasizing ideas, and offering further insights into your conversations. Collaborators can contribute meaningfully, fostering a more dynamic and productive exchange of ideas on the Conversation Page.
Add reactions to comments, transcript content, and replies to enhance your conversations.
Once a conversation has finished processing, hover over any section of text to bring up the toolbar.Â
You have the option to quickly +1 () content or search through the vast available emojis to use by clicking the add emoji icon ().Â
Add on to your team member’s reactions. You can hover over any reaction to see who else reacted with that emoji.
Add, reply, and interact with comments to start conversations with your team members.Â
Add a comment
- In the Transcript tab of a conversation, highlight any content you want to leave a comment on to bring up the toolbar.Â
- Click Comment () in the toolbar.
- Type your comment and click the send button () on the right or hit Enter/Return on your keyboard. To notify another Otter user of your comment, tag them using @.
- On the panel right of the conversation page, click the Comments tab to view all comment threads you or your team members created.
Note: Comments cannot be sorted or reordered at this time.
Reply to comments
In the Comments tab, click into the Reply field to reply to any comment threads. Type your response and click the send button () on the right or hit Enter/Return on your keyboard to reply. To notify another Otter user of your comment, tag them using @.
You can react to comments using emojis.
Create a link or delete a comment
You can generate a link to the comment or delete a comment anytime by clicking the 3-dots () next to a comment:

Copy Link: Generates a direct link to the comment.
Note: Any users you share the link to will need collaborator permissions to view the comment. - Delete: Permanently deletes a comment. Deleted comments are not recoverable.Â
Highlight content during the live recording or post-recording to call out parts of the conversation you want to revisit or to remember important information.Â
Select the content you want to highlight. Click highlight ().Â

To quickly highlight, click highlight () on the controls panel and Otter will automatically highlight the current portion of the transcript either during playback or the most recently transcribed section during the live recording.Â
View only your highlights
View all of your highlights in one central location. On the Transcript tab, toggle on Show only highlights to view all highlights. You can playback and review just the highlights of your transcript.Â
Add images to your conversations during the live recording or post-recording.Â

- Highlight the text you want to add an image to and click Add image () in the toolbar or control panel.
- You have the option to upload from your device or paste from your clipboard.
- Select the file you want to add. Click Open.
- The image will be inserted next to the text.
