Sharing Otter conversations allows others to view, playback, and collaborate on conversations, as well as edit, share, or export, if you so choose.
There are many ways you can share conversations:
- Share with individuals via email
- Share with an Otter channel
- Share with a link (public or workspace-accessible)

Share a conversation with others
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations.
- Click the conversation you want to share.
- Click Share in the top right.
- Enter the name or email you want to share with.
Note: If you share with an email address that isn't an Otter account, they will need to create an account before being able to view the transcript. - Click the drop-down on the right to edit the permissions:
- By default, Collaborators are able to share the conversation and Viewers are able to export. Click on the gear icon in the bottom right of the popup to change these settings.
- Deselect the checkbox to remove the export option for Viewers.
Note: This setting also applies to public links as well as privately shared speeches. - Click Share.
Create a public link
You can create a public link to allow other people to view your transcripts.
- Click the 'Restricted' dropdown.
- You will have two permission options to select from:
- You can set the permission on the right side above the gear icon.
- Click Copy link to share the URL.
Share a conversation with a Channel
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations.
- Click the conversation you want to share.
- Click Share in the top right.
- In the text field box, type the Channel name you want to share with.
Or click on the Channels tab to browse your existing Channels. - Click the Collaborator drop-down on the right side to edit the permissions:
- Click Send.
Share multiple conversations
- Sign in to Otter.
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations.
- Select each conversation you want to share. In the mobile app, tap
next to each conversation.
- Click Share

- Enter the name, email, or Channel you want to share with.
Note: If you share with an email address that isn't an Otter account, they can only view the conversation until they create an Otter account. - Click Can Edit to edit the permissions, and then click Can view, Can comment, or Can edit. In the mobile app, tap

- Click Share. In the mobile app, tap Send.
Share a public link to a conversation
You can send other people a public link to your conversation so anyone with the link can use it. When you share a link to a conversation, your name will not be visible as the owner of the conversation.
- Sign in to Otter.
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations.
- Click the conversation you want to share.
- Click Share

- Click the Create a link link. In the mobile app, tap Link sharing.
- Click Copy link.
- Copy and paste the link in an email or any place you want to share it.
Share a conversation snippet
You can share a snippet within a conversation instead of the entire conversation.
- Sign in to Otter.
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations.
- Click the conversation you want to share.
- Highlight the text you want to share. In the toolbar, click Share
.
- Click
to copy the share link to your clipboard.
- Paste the link in an email or any place you want to share it.
Choose the sharing permissions
When you share a conversation with someone or a Channel, you can choose what they can do with it. Read our Choose Who You Share With article for more information.

Collaborator:
- Users can edit, view, playback, and export the transcript
- Users can edit, add, and view Takeaways

Note: This setting also applies to public links as well as privately shared speeches.
When you create a link for your transcript, you can limit access to your specific workspace or allow anyone to view it.

Anyone in your workspace:
- Users in your workspace will be able to access the link
- You can edit the permission to Collaborator or Viewer
- To review the users in your workspace, navigate to My Team
