Once enabled, additional settings let you control how and which conversations are exported.

Choose how conversations are exported.
- Automatic — Automatically export all future conversations, including ad-hoc recordings, imported conversations, Otter Notetaker recordings, supported meeting platform recordings (such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams), and mobile recordings.
- Manual — Export conversations individually whenever needed.

After editing your Otter conversation, such as updating speaker names, editing the transcript, or revising the summary, you can export the latest version to Notion.
When you’re finished making changes, click Update. Otter updates the existing exported page in Notion with the latest version of your conversation using your current export settings.
Manage your exported conversations in Notion Learn where exported conversations are stored and how to organize or move them within your Notion workspace
The first time you export a conversation, Otter creates an Otter.ai Conversations database in your connected Notion workspace. Future exports are added to this database.
You can move, rename, or organize the Otter database just like any other Notion content.
FAQs
Can I export past conversations to Notion?
Yes. You can manually export any Otter conversation to Notion, including conversations created before connecting the Notion integration.
Can I export conversations that were shared with me?
Yes. You can export shared conversations if you have Viewer or Collaborator access.
Why is the Export to Notion option missing or unavailable?
Make sure you are connected to Notion on the Integrations page for the option to show up in the conversation page’s three-dot menu.
If the Export to Notion option is missing or unavailable, your workspace admin may have disabled exports or removed the option to connect to Notion for your workspace. Contact your workspace admin for assistance.

How do I restore a previous version of an exported conversation?
Clicking Update replaces the existing exported page in Notion with the latest version of your Otter conversation.
If you need to recover an earlier version, use Notion Page History (available on supported Notion plans). Restoring a previous version only changes the exported Notion page. It doesn’t restore or update the original Otter conversation.
Can I rename or move the Otter Notion database?
Yes. You can rename or move the Otter database anywhere within your Notion workspace. Future exports continue to use the configured export location.
Can I export images to Notion?
No. Images aren’t currently included in Notion exports.
To export conversations with images, use the standard Export feature and choose DOCX or PDF to manually upload to Notion.
Can I bulk export conversations to Notion?
No. Bulk exports aren’t supported.
Open the conversation, click the three-dot menu, then select Export to Notion.
What happens if I delete the Otter database location in Notion?
If you permanently delete the default Otter export location, Otter automatically recreates it the next time you export a conversation.
Why isn’t my conversation ready to export?
Your conversation must finish processing before it can be exported.
If you see Speech is not yet ready for export, wait until processing completes and try again. If the issue continues, contact Otter Support.
Why did my Notion export fail?
An export may fail if you tried to update a conversation and the Otter database was moved to the Trash folder or deleted. While exporting may still work if the database is in the Trash folder, updating a conversation will not work once it’s there.
Make sure the database is not in the Trash folder.
Do Otter edits automatically update my Notion export?
No. Changes you make in Otter aren’t automatically synced to Notion.
After editing a transcript, summary, or other conversation content, click Update to export the latest version.
Can I export conversations to Notion from the Otter mobile app?
No. The Notion integration is currently available only on the web and desktop versions of Otter.
On the mobile app, you can still export a conversation locally and, if your device supports it, choose Notion as the destination using your device’s share menu.
Are there workspace admin controls for Notion exports?
No. There are no dedicated admin controls for the Notion integration. Each workspace member manages their own Notion connection and export settings.
Workspace admins can disable conversation exports for the workspace. When exports are disabled, members won’t be able to export conversations to Notion.
Why isn’t a new Notion database being created after I deleted it?
If you deleted the default Otter export database, check whether it’s still in your Notion Trash. Otter continues exporting conversations to the original database until it has been permanently deleted.
Once the database is permanently deleted, Otter automatically creates a new export database the next time you export a conversation.
Can I connect Notion for the whole workspace?
No. Each workspace member must connect their own Notion at the account level. Workspace admins can’t connect the integration on behalf of all members or for the whole workspace.
