Connecting your Zoom calendar to Otter makes it easy to transcribe and capture key details from your meetings. Once connected, OtterPilot can automatically join your future Zoom calls, allowing you to experience smooth note-taking, Otter AI-powered features, and synced collaboration post-meeting.
Connect your Zoom calendar
- Click on Apps in the left navigation menu.
- Click Add next to Zoom.
- Sign in to your Zoom account.
- Review the app permissions. Click Allow once you have finished reviewing.
- Your Zoom account is now connected to Otter.
Note: You can leave More Zoom integrations toggled OFF. This setting is not required for syncing your Zoom meetings to Otter.
Set up OtterPilot to join your Zoom meetings
With Zoom connected, you can set up OtterPilot to join your meetings automatically. Follow the steps below to ensure OtterPilot can seamlessly join your meetings.
- Sign in to your Zoom account.
- Under Personal on the left navigation menu, click Settings > Recording Tab.
- Toggle ON Record to computer files.
- Checkmark External meeting participants.
- Checkmark Auto approve their permission request.
On Otter's side, manage your OtterPilot settings for auto-join, auto-share, and chat messages in Account Settings > Meetings. These settings will apply to all meetings that OtterPilot joins. Learn more about managing your OtterPilot settings.
Manage your synced Zoom meetings
On the homepage calendar, your Zoom meetings will sync to Otter. You can manage individual settings for each calendar event. Learn more about managing your calendar events.
Manage recurring Zoom meetings
You can manage Otter settings for recurring Zoom meetings. Click on any recurring Zoom meeting and review your settings. Any changes you make to the calendar event will apply to all future recurring Zoom meetings. Learn more about managing recurring meetings.

My Zoom meeting is not syncing. What should I do?
- If you recently created the meeting on Zoom's side and it's not showing up in Otter, click the sync button on the homepage calendar to initiate an immediate sync.

Do I need to toggle More Zoom integrations to sync my Zoom calendar?
- No.
- You can leave More Zoom integrations toggled OFF. This setting is not required for syncing your Zoom meetings to Otter.
- The More Zoom integrations setting is only required for the integrations of Otter Live Notes and Otter Zoom Cloud Sync.
My OtterPilot is not joining my Zoom meetings. What should I do?
- There are specific settings that need to be enabled on Zoom's side after connecting your account to allow OtterPilot to join your meetings.
- Make sure you have set up OtterPilot to join your Zoom meetings.
