Otter Chat is not available right now

Otter Chat may not be available due to server outages. Check out our Status Page to view any current or past outages. If you encounter this message, please try again later in the meeting or save the query, action, or prompt for post-meeting.

Response interrupted

Otter AI Chat will begin to provide a response after your voice command. If interrupted, Otter Chat may not finish providing the complete response to your query or action. In Otter Chat, you'll see [response interrupted] appended to the message. If you encounter this message, please try saying your voice command again.

Otter is unable to complete the action

Otter may need more details to complete the action. If you encounter this, please say "Hey Otter" and add any clarifying details to your request.

Otter Chat responses are not showing in the Zoom chat window

Otter Chat responses will always be available in the AI Chat tab in the Otter conversation. You have the option to send the questions and responses to Zoom chat as well during the meeting. Ensure Send Otter Chat Q&A is enabled in Account Settings > Meetings for Otter Chat.

Otter Chat responses should then appear in both the Otter conversation and Zoom Chat.

Other messages

You may encounter some of the following messages in the chat window if there is an error. Please try asking your command, prompt, or action request again, if you encounter any of the following messages.

"I couldn’t send the message because [reason]."
"I couldn’t stop/pause the recording. Please try again."
"I couldn’t save the action item. Please repeat or clarify the details."

Best practices

Ensure Otter Notetaker is able to join your meeting.
Manage your Otter Notetaker, chat, and voice settings in Account Settings > Meetings.
If you need to interrupt Otter AI Chat voice after saying a prompt/question, Otter will stop the output of the answer. Ask Otter Chat voice again to get more information.
