Otter AI Chat voice commands and actions

Use voice commands with Otter AI Chat during your Zoom meetings. Learn more about setting up Otter AI Chat with voice. 

Tip: The list below is a few examples of commands you can try but do not represent the only ones available. Try your own custom commands and questions, as Otter Chat voice can support a variety of possibilities. 

Create an action item

Create an action item directly in the Otter conversation.

🗣️ Voice Examples:

  • “Hey Otter, add an action item for [task description] for [person]”
  • “Hey Otter, create a task: [task details]”
  • “Hey Otter, note down [task details] as an action item”

The action item will appear shortly in the Otter conversation under the Summary tab.

Schedule a meeting

Create a Google Calendar link with pre-filled details.

Note: We currently only support pre-filling details for Google Calendar. Microsoft Outlook calendar is not supported at this time. We hope to expand to more calendar platforms in the future.

🗣️ Voice Examples:

  • “Hey Otter, schedule a meeting next Wednesday at 10am in the morning with Gordan”
  • “Hey Otter, schedule a follow up for us to chat next week Tuesday at 9am”

Otter AI Chat will generate a calendar event. Click the link in the Otter conversation or Zoom chat window to pre-fill.

Review the event and click Save to add it to your calendar.

Stop or Pause/Resume the recording

Stop, pause, and resume the meeting using voice chat.

Stop the recording

Note: Stopping the recording will prompt the Otter Notetaker to leave the meeting. You will need to manually re-add Otter Notetaker to continue recording the rest of the meeting.

🗣️ Voice Examples:

  • “Hey Otter, stop recording”
  • “Hey Otter, end the recording now”
  • “Hey Otter, turn off the recording”

Pause and Resume the recording

Note: Saying ‘resume’ verbally is not yet supported, but will come in later versions.

🗣️ Voice Invocation Examples:

  • “Hey Otter, pause the recording”

    • Recording paused
    • Type ‘resume’ in Otter Chat to resume the recording

  • “Hey Otter, pause the recording for 10 minutes”

    • Recording paused
    • Recording will resume in 10 minutes
    • Type ‘resume’ in Otter Chat to resume the recording anytime
    Note: For automatic resuming of a recording, a message will be sent to the Zoom Chat to notify that the recording is being resumed.

Send an email

Use Otter AI Chat to send an email of the conversation. You can send a variety of information in the email: Summary, action items, generated insights, and more.

  • For users in the Workspace or known contacts, Otter Chat automatically finds and populates the email.
  • If an email is not found for the user, you can provide the email directly to Otter Chat through voice.
Note: We currently only support pre-filling and creating an email draft for Gmail. Microsoft Outlook is not supported at this time. We hope to expand to more email platforms in the future.

🗣️ Voice Examples:

  • “Hey Otter, draft an email for Reese Lou to send containing the action items from this meeting.”
  • “Hey Otter, send Lyla Fern a summary of this meeting via email.”
  • “Hey Otter, email juniper.patel@beaverly.ai a summary of this meeting via email.”

Otter will generate an email. Click the link in the Otter conversation or Zoom chat window to pre-fill an email draft.

Review the email draft and click Send to send the email.
