Manage Salesforce Otter Chat for your Workspace (Admin)
Follow the our Salesforce integration guide for more detailed steps. Salesforce will be connected to the entire Workspace for all members. Admins can manage the Workspace Otter Chat setting for Salesforce.
- Sign in to the Salesforce instance where you want to install the package.
- Click on the URL below to install the package.
- Select the option Install for All Users.
- Click Install.
- You can click Done once the ‘Installation Complete!’ message is shown.

Sign in to Otter.ai as an admin. Click on Apps & Integrations. Click Add next to Salesforce. Connect your Salesforce account.
- Click Connect to all Otter Workspace accounts.
Salesforce
- Log in to your Salesforce account where you have installed the package if not already logged in.
- Navigate to Setup. In the Quick Find field, search for ‘Permission Sets’.
- Click into Permissions Sets.
- Find Otter Admin Permission Set.
- Click on Manage Assignments.
Click Add Assignments and assign the Otter Admin permissions to the user who will be managing the Otter Salesforce connection.
Manage Salesforce Otter Chat setting
Now that Salesforce is connected to your Workspace, admins can manage the Otter Chat setting for Salesforce. Learn more about syncing Insights to Custom Fields and managing your Salesforce connection.
- On the Apps & Integrations page, click Manage.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Manage your Salesforce enriched Otter Chat.
- All workspace users: Members of the Workspace can use this feature.
- Only me: Only the admin who enables this setting can use this feature. No other member or admin in the Workspace will be able to use this feature.

Manage Salesforce Otter Chat for your Otter account (Member)
Follow the guide below to connect only your Otter account to Salesforce. This will only connect Salesforce to your individual account, and not for the entire Workspace.

Sign in to Otter.ai. Click on Apps & Integrations. Click Add next to Salesforce.
Note: If Salesforce is not showing as an option on the Apps page, please contact your Workspace Admin, who can reach out to your Otter account manager. - Log in to your Salesforce account to authorize the connection to Otter. Your account will be connected immediately after the OAuth step.
- Your Salesforce account is now connected to your Otter account. Click on Manage.
- Manage your settings and click Confirm.
- Task export to contacts: Automatically push insights to Salesforce if a matching contact is found.

Toggle on Advanced Mode

Tips & best practices
- Narrow down the set of deals you care about... like "biggest 5 deals we won" or "3 deals nearest to closing".
- Include a company/rep/deal name to identify deals.
- Don't always rely on chat history, you may need to repeat context in your latest message.
