Delete a conversation

Follow the instructions below to delete a conversation on the desktop or web version of Otter.

1. Sign in to Otter.ai.
2. Open the conversation you want to delete.
3. Click the 3-dot menu in the top right. Select Delete.
   
4. Carefully review the pop-up information. Click OK to confirm. 
   
5. The conversation will be moved to the Trash folder and automatically deleted after 30 days. Follow these steps to delete the conversation immediately.

Bulk delete multiple conversations

1. Sign in to Otter.ai.

2. On the Home page, click the "For you" dropdown menu in the top right. Select My Conversations or All Conversations. 

   Note: All Conversations will include conversations that are shared with you. You will not be able to bulk delete conversations that are shared with you if selected.

   

3. Hover over the conversation and click the checkboxes to select the conversation(s) you want to delete.
   
4. Once you have finished selecting the conversations you want to delete, click Delete.
   
5. Carefully review the pop-up information. Click OK to confirm.
   
6. The conversation(s) will be moved to the Trash folder and automatically deleted after 30 days. Follow these steps to delete the conversation(s) immediately.

Trash Folder Desktop

Conversations will be permanently deleted 30 days after they’re moved to the Trash folder. The time remaining until deletion is displayed on the right.

Follow these steps to delete all conversations from the Trash folder immediately. 

1. On the Home page, click the "For you" dropdown menu in the top right. Select Trash.
   
2. Click Empty Trash Now.
   
3. Carefully review the pop-up. Click Delete Forever to confirm.
   
4. All conversations in the Trash folder have been permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
   

Additionally, you can manually select which conversations to recover or permanently delete.
