FAQs
Who can manage Enterprise workspace settings?
Enterprise workspace admins can manage workspace-level settings, including security, compliance, Notetaker behavior, sharing, and conversation content.
Regular workspace members cannot manage these settings.
Why can't I see certain Enterprise settings?
Some settings may not appear depending on your workspace's plan, configuration, or your permissions.
Confirm that you are accessing the correct Enterprise workspace and have workspace admin permissions.
If a setting is still unavailable, contact your Otter account manager.
Do Enterprise workspace settings apply to all members?
Enterprise workspace settings establish workspace-level controls for members. Some settings are enforced across the workspace, while others allow members to configure their own preferences.
For settings that include Allow members to change this setting for themselves?, workspace admins can determine whether individual members are permitted to override the default.
Can members change settings configured by a workspace admin?
It depends on the setting. Some Enterprise settings allow admins to grant members permission to manage their own preferences.
When a setting is marked Allowed, members can customize that setting for themselves. When member changes are not allowed, the workspace setting is enforced.
This option is available for certain settings, including pre-recording emails, default auto-join behavior, and meeting screen capture.
Can I prevent Otter Notetaker from joining certain meetings?
Yes. Workspace admins can configure default auto-join behavior and add do-not-record keywords.
Meetings containing configured do-not-record keywords in their titles will be excluded from Notetaker's automatic joining behavior.
Can I customize how Otter Notetaker appears in meetings?
Yes. Workspace admins can customize the Notetaker display name and image shown to meeting participants.
Go to Manage Workspace → Settings → Otter Notetaker and update the Notetaker display name or Notetaker display image.
Can I restrict members from sharing conversations outside the workspace?
Yes. Workspace admins can use the External sharing setting under Sharing & Permissions to restrict who members can share conversations with.
Admins can also manage default auto-share settings, conversation exports, and social media sharing.
What happens when conversation exports are disabled?
When Conversation export is turned off, workspace members cannot export conversations through the standard export functionality.
This may also affect export options available through supported integrations.
Can I hide transcripts or meeting summaries from members?
Yes. Workspace admins can turn off Transcript visibility or Meeting summary visibility under Content & Recordings.
These settings control whether full transcripts and AI-generated summaries are displayed on conversation pages.
What happens when I select Remove audio from conversations?
The Remove audio option is designed to remove audio from all existing and future workspace conversations.
Because this action affects workspace-wide audio retention, review your organization's requirements before proceeding.
Who should I contact if I need help configuring Enterprise settings?
Contact your organization's Otter account manager for assistance with Enterprise workspace configuration.
For technical issues or additional troubleshooting, contact our Otter Support team.
