Team members have easy access to all conversations and can get caught up quickly through Otter Chat AI features, ultimately leading to more informed decision-making and improved productivity.
Using Otter Chat in the Channels
Within a Channel, you can utilize Otter Chat to ask questions, summarize, pull action items, and more across all the conversations shared to that Channel. Otter Chat can pull insights from conversations that you or other Channel members share.Â
- Generate answers based on conversations shared with the Channel.
- Narrow down prompts based on times, dates, or meeting titles.
- Use suggested prompts to help you obtain more details about your conversations and meetings.Â
- Easily view the one-click source to find exactly which conversation Otter Chat generated the answer from. Â
All prompts and questions asked to Otter Chat will be visible to all Channel members.Â
- Click into the Send message field.Â
- To prompt Otter Chat, mention Otter in your message (@otter, hey otter, otter, etc.).
- Click the Send button or hit Enter/Return on your keyboard when ready.

View the conversation source directly by clicking on the hyperlinked conversation name highlighted in blue. You’ll be taken directly to the conversation where Otter pulled the information from.Â
Chat with your Channel members
You can message your team members directly in the Channel to discuss, clarify, and collaborate on shared conversations. It eliminates the need for switching between multiple platforms, streamlining communication, and ensuring that all discussions are directly related to the content at hand.Â
- Click into the Send message field.Â
- Type your message. You can mention members that are in the Channel.
Note: You cannot mention a member and prompt Otter Chat at the same time. To prompt Otter Chat, mention Otter in a separate message (@otter, hey otter, otter, etc.). - Click the Send button or hit Enter/Return on your keyboard when ready.
- The tagged members will be notified.
Manage your answers, prompts, and messages
- Hover over the answer, prompt, or message you want to delete.
Note: Deleting an answer will delete the prompt as well and vice-versa. - Click on the 3 dots in the tools menu on the right.Â
- Select Delete.
- Hover over the answer, prompt, or message you want to copy.
- Click the Copy text button in the tools menu on the right.
- Paste into any other document, file, or word processing application.Â
