Once the recording has been stopped or a file has finished importing and the audio is finished processing, you and anyone with permission can edit the conversation to refine and improve the accuracy of the transcript and helps Otter to identify speakers more accurately in the future.
Edit text in a conversation
- Sign in to Otter.
- Click the menu in the top left and click My Conversations or Shared With Me.
- Click the conversation you want to edit.
- Click Edit. In the mobile app, tap

Note: If the owner didn’t give you permission to edit the conversation, you will not be able to edit. Request permission to edit by contacting the owner. - Begin editing.
- Click Done after you've made your edits. In the mobile app, tap

What is editable
- Correct the spelling of a word
- Add or delete a word
- Add, change, or delete punctuation
- Insert or remove a paragraph break
- Select or change the speaker

Things to keep in mind
- Editing a live conversation is not supported at this time and can only be edited once it's finished processing.
- Otter's machine learning does not learn from edits made to a conversation. We recommend adding jargon, acronyms, and unique terms to the custom vocabulary to boost accuracy.
