You and any collaborators can edit a conversation to refine and improve its accuracy. Otter's machine learning will learn from edits made to a conversation to improve the accuracy of future conversations.
Note: If the owner didn’t give you permission as a collaborator to edit the conversation, you will not be able to edit. Request permission to edit by contacting the owner.
Editing a conversation
Begin editing once the recording has stopped or the file has finished importing, and the audio is finished processing.
What can you edit in a conversation?

- Correct the spelling of a word
- Add or delete a word
- Add, change, or delete punctuation
- Insert or remove a paragraph break
- Select or change the speaker

Note: Otter requires an active internet connection. Make sure you are connected to a stable internet connection to edit a conversation.
- Sign in to your Otter account at otter.ai.
- Select the conversation you want to edit.
- Click the Edit button next to the conversation title to begin editing.
- Click Done to save your edits.
Best practices
- When editing, Saving… will appear at the top of the conversation. Make sure you allow Otter time to process your changes. It will transition to All changes saved when finished.
- After each editing session, make sure to click Done before navigating to a different page or closing the browser window or tab.

The Otter mobile app is available on iOS or Android.
- Open the Otter mobile app.
- Navigate to the conversation you want to edit.
- Click the edit icon in the upper corner of the menu bar.
- Tap anywhere in the conversation to begin editing.
- Click Done to save your edits.
