Move your Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) subscription to Otter via Web

We recommend purchasing your Otter subscription via Web to take advantage of the following: 

  • Savings vs. subscribing via Apple or Google.
  • Our Otter Support Team can help manage your subscription if any issues arise. 
  • Manage and view your subscription directly within Otter, and easily upgrade to Otter Business (only available via Web) when ready.

Select the situation below that best fits your current subscription status and follow the outlined steps to purchase an Otter Pro Annual subscription via Web.

Note: When moving an iOS or Android subscription to a subscription via Web, you will not lose any conversations or data in your account. Archive limits may apply if you stay on the Basic free plan. 
I have an existing Otter Pro Monthly/Annual subscription purchased via Apple App Store
Note: Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store can only be managed through your Apple account. You will be unable to cancel or manage your subscription within your Otter account, nor can our Otter Support Team cancel or manage it on your behalf. This is a limitation on Apple’s side, as they prevent all 3rd party developers from accessing their billing system. 

To purchase a subscription via Web, you will need to first cancel your subscription that was purchased through the Apple App Store. Once your subscription has expired, you can purchase a new Otter Pro subscription via Web. Below outlines the steps for canceling your subscription on an iPhone/iPad:

Step 1: Cancel your Otter Apple App Store subscription 

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad. 
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap the Otter.ai subscription.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button. If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled.
  6. Tap Confirm to proceed with cancellation.
  7. Your subscription will expire at the end of the billing cycle.

Once your subscription has expired, you can proceed to Step 2. We recommend waiting until the subscription expires to avoid being double charged. 

Warning: If you proceed with purchasing an Otter subscription via Web before your Otter Apple App Store subscription expires, you may risk being double charged, as there will be no refund or prorated credit due to the different billing systems that Apple App Store and Otter uses.

Step 2: Purchase your Otter subscription via Web

  1. Log into your Otter.ai account.  
  2. Click your profile in the upper right corner to expand the menu. Click Upgrade plan.
  3. Click Buy Now in the Pro column.

  4. Fill out your billing and payment information. Click Continue to complete the purchase. 
  5. You are now on the Otter Pro Annual subscription purchased via Web.

To purchase a subscription via Web, you will need to first cancel your subscription that was purchased through the Google Play store. Once your subscription has expired, you can purchase a new Otter Pro subscription via Web. Below outlines the steps for canceling your subscription through Google Play store:

Step 1: Cancel your Otter Google Play store subscription 

  1. On your Android device or browser, go to your subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription.
  4. Follow the instructions. 

Once your subscription has expired, you can proceed to Step 2. We recommend waiting until the subscription expires to avoid being double charged. 

Warning: If you proceed with purchasing an Otter subscription via Web before your Otter Google Play store subscription expires, you may risk being double charged, as there will be no refund or prorated credit due to the different billing systems that Google Play Store and Otter uses.

Step 2: Purchase your Otter subscription via Web
