You can cancel your Otter subscription anytime to set the subscription to expire at the end of the billing period. Once your paid subscription expires, you can continue to use Otter on the Basic free plan.
Note: Cancelling your subscription is not the same as deleting your account. To learn more about deleting your account, check out the Delete your account article.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel them.
- If you cancel, you can keep using the paid features until the subscription expires at the end of the current billing period.
- Cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the next billing date to avoid an unwanted charge.
- Applicable limits of the Basic plan apply after the paid subscription expires.
- Subscriptions are non-refundable as explained in the Otter Terms of Service.
Note: Only the owner or admin(s) of an account or Workspace can cancel the subscription.
Steps to cancel
- Sign in to Otter.ai as an admin.

Click on your profile on the left navigation menu. Select Account Settings and click on the Plan tab.
Note: If your Otter subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, please reach out to them to manage your subscription. -
At the end of the page, click Cancel Plan.
- Carefully review the information in the pop-up. The message may vary depending on your plan. Click Cancel Subscription to proceed.
- The subscription is now canceled and will expire at the end of the billing cycle. You and any member in your Workspace can continue to use paid features until the end of the billing cycle.

If I cancel my subscription, is it immediate?
- No.
- Your subscription will expire at the end of your billing cycle. Find when your billing cycles in Account Settings > Plan.
- You can reactivate your plan anytime before it expires or repurchase again after the subscription expires on the plan page.
I only need to use Otter for a short duration. Can I pay for a specific duration and not be charged for renewal?

What happens when the billing cycle ends after canceling?
- The Otter Workspace will remain active.
- Team members will continue to have access to the 25 most recent conversations; but, they can’t create new conversations or import files.
- No new team members can be invited to the account.
- If a team member is deactivated by an admin, they will not be able to sign in or access their conversations.
